The 2019 World Tour season reached its first climax with a lot of traditional and well-known tournaments all over the world. All tournaments were very well organized and we congratulate all hosts for their professional work.

Some requirements out of the “Sports requirements”-section could not entirely be fulfilled at 3 tournaments, though, that’s why we’d like to inform about following decisions taken by the IFA jury:

Novo Hamburgo (both categories from Major to 750):

1 requirement out of the “Sports requirements”-section was not fulfilled (13 women’s teams in the women’s competition instead of the necessary 15).
Decision:
The well-known and published rules are absolutely clear in this aspect:
Tournaments that want to achieve “Major”-status must fulfil the Major criteria in both categories, women’s and men’s.
And:
Requirements from the part “Sports Requirement” must be completely fulfilled without exception.

Due to these regulations, we do not have another choice than to downgrade both competitions, the men’s and the women’s tournament to the 750 category.

Stammheim (both categories from Major to 750):

2 requirements out of the “Sports requirements”-section were not fulfilled (12 women’s teams from 2 nations in the women’s competition instead of the necessary 15 from 3 nations).

Elgg (Women category from 750 to 500):

1 requirement out of the “Sports requirements”-section was not fulfilled (only 1 nation was represented in the women’s competition instead of the necessary 2 nations).
Decision:
The well-known and published rules are absolutely clear in this aspect:
Requirements from the part “Sports Requirement” must be completely fulfilled without exception.

Due to these regulations, we do not have another choice than to downgrade just the women’s tournament to the 500 category. The men’s competition stays within the 750 category as it was planned and published.

We are interested in avoiding downgrades in the future, that’s why we are working on new regulations for 2020 with all these tournaments again in Major and 750 categories. All tournaments and hosts have an excellent reputation and we appreciate their work for Fistball and for the World Tour very much.
